April Chocolate Moments 2017

Tomorrow will be the first day of April and it might be Spring, or not. Yesterday where I live it was 74 degrees Fahrenheit but today the high may be only 50. To get you ready for a month of chocolate fun, regardless of your weather, here is our calendar of fun and serious holidays you could celebrate with chocolate.

April = National Poetry Month -- Have you ever written a poem about chocolate?

April 2 = International Children’s Book Day in honor of Hans Christian Andersen's birthday, celebrated since 1967. Here are some children's books we've reviewed on this blog:

Ice Cream Summer

Daniel's Crazy Choco Party

Bake Sale

Sticky, Chewy, Messy, Gooey Treats for Kids

April 3, 1892 = date of the creation of the Ice Cream Sundae but the National Sundae Day is in November for some reason!

April 3 = National Chocolate Mousse Day -- here's an old post about Milk Chocolate Peanut Butter Mousse

April 5 = National Caramel Day

2nd week of April = World Allergy Week -- If you are not allergic to chocolate perhaps substitute chocolate in for something you are allergic as a treat that week.

April 9 = National Coffee Cake Day -- here's an old post about Cinnamon Chocolate Chip Coffee Cake

April 14 = National Pecan Day

April 16 = Easter in both Western and Eastern Christianity

April 21 = National Chocolate Covered Cashew Truffle Day

April 22 = Earth Day (started 1970) -- Remember, Earth is the only planet we know of where Cocoa Trees can be grown. No trees, no chocolate!

April 28 = National Blueberry Day -- I love blueberries so I'm going to try something with them that day.
