Dunkin' Donuts Hot Chocolate Recall

A newspaper, the Sun Sentinel, and a Boston TV station, WCVT, your Chocolate Priestess saw today report that Dunkin' Donuts is pulling it's hot chocolate and Dunkaccinos from it's retail stores. There have been no reports of any Salmonella poisoning nor is this recall on the company website or the US Recalls News site that I check a few times each month for all of you.

So since I can't confirm this story via the company or the recall site, I want all of you, Sisters and Brothers, who go to a Dunkin' Donuts to check it out and let me know if you can order hot chocolates or Dunkaccinos.

This seems to be happening more and more, doesn't it? Companies and restaurants pulling products either because they have a contamination or because they fear one. What is going on?

Have we become so lack in our professional food safety that we shouldn't call it "professional" any more? Have we become too frightened and thus we freak out at the hint of something? Have we refused to fund out government watch dog agencies so they can catch problems before they happen?

What do you think, Sisters and Brothers? Write a comment and let me know and today I'll just read with interest.

Sisters and Brothers, may you too take the time to slowly appreciate what the Divine and human ingenuity have offered you in chocolate.
