A reader and friend brought this Consumer Reports article to my attention so I wanted to share it with you all.
Read it and leave your own thoughts and comments.
Here are some of mine:
None of their top picks are familiar to me yet except for Vosages, and then it is difficult to find where I live. I have difficulty believing that the testers could have found them easily either.
They were quite mean in some of their comments.
The reviewers seem to value looks and taste (that article lays that flat out), but appear to have ignored the other three senses we include here in our reviews. How did it feel in the mouth? How did it smell? Did it make any sound when they took a bite or chewed?
How did they test the chocolate? What was the process? Did they eat or drink anything else? How much time did they leave between individual pieces? We lay that out here on The Chocolate Cult. You know we never have other food and only water when we do testing. We wait and make sure our palates are clean before moving onto the next piece.
