National Cherry Day (with Chocolate!)

July 16th will be National Cherry Day but we only publish our review articles on Saturdays unless we are overwhelmed by holiday themed products we've been sent to review. We conducted the testing and the writing for this piece months ago when we received a ASOZI Red Chocolate Coverd Dried Cherris box... spelling errors are on the box itself. Considering that other ASOZI products have the correct spelling, I wonder if this was a case of someone at the company didn't do their jobs in proofing the boxes they were sent. But you don't care about spelling, right? You want to know how the chocolate is! Let's get the legals out of the way. I was sent a free box of this product via the Amazon Vine program to test and review on their website; this article is an unexpected bonus for which no other compensation was received for sharing my honest experiences today.

The first thing to note is that this has real chocolate. The white chocolate is indeed white, no added fats or oils. The milk chocolate is also real. That qualifies this for our 2025 "Best of" competition at the end of the year. There are a couple of allergens you may want to know about such as milk and soy. Other than a few dyes and a lot of added sugars, the ingredient list is simple.

These are supposed to be dual chocolate covered dried cherries. The white chocolate has been dyed red and that is the top coating. Under it is the milk chocolate and then the dried cherry. I cut one and tried to get a photo for you to see. If you look closely should should see where the red colored white chocolate ends and a milk chocolate coating begins before the cherry center.

A total of five testers tried this product and we had two camps of opinions about it, but both groups liked them a lot. The first group thought that both the cherry and the chocolate flavor was strong. The second group that that the cherry flavor was more like candy though they did agree that the milk chocolate came through more powerfully than the white chocolate. Both groups got a crunch when they bit into the cherries and found the texture easy to chew, non-sticky, and what was expected from freeze dried fruit. All of us found the color a surprise and were grateful that the dye used didn't leave a flavor or aftertaste behind. The fact that the sizes of the pieced varied so much also impressed us as indicating that these were real cherries.

Strangely the group that thought this had a more candy cherry flavor ate them faster than those of us who thought it was a real flavor. Aside from the laughable printing error on the box, we all recommend this and say that this earns Sacrament Status.

There isn't much information about ASOZI or the parent company, TUMZON LLC, that I could find. It appears to be a wholesaler run by one man. I can say that the box has the ingredients listed as well as potential allergens, and that the nutrition facts are printed a large font and therefore easy to read.
