Get a Good Grip on Decorating Your Christmas Cookies

I don't know about you, Sisters and Brothers in Chocolate, but I have a lot of baking, candy making, and cooking to do this winter holiday season. One item I've found that helps me a lot when I want to decorate cookies, cupcakes, cakes, almost anything dessert item regardless of the time of year is this OXO Baker's 8pc Silicone Decorating Bottle Kit. A few years back I was sent this kit to test out and I liked it. I even used it during our annual holiday party at my house in an activity where guests could design their own cookies and the top three won a prize. I received this kit for free from OXO via Amazon Vine Program in exchange for an honest review on the Amazon website; this feature was not something that either company expected. No other form of compensation was received.

The 8 pieces include 2 bottles with lids for them, and 6 decorative tips. They are all very easy to clean either by hand or in the dishwasher though the tips are a bit too small for my comfort to put in my dishwasher and in general I like to just wash silicone by hand. The bottles are very flexible and easy to wash, they can even be turned inside out though I didn't really need to do that.


My only negative about these are that the bottles are small. For comparison here they are with the 2 other frosting bottles that I used at the holiday party for guests to decorate with. Having the 4 bottles allowed for 4 colors and just simply 2 color or the stress of adding frosting to and from the bottles. The accordion style bottles are much easiest to squeeze than the straight bottle.
