Take a Weekend to Support Pet Charity with Chocolate Walk

As some of you readers may know, this blog never endorses a brand, creator, or event without experience with it. Your Chocolate Priestess, that's me, has been going to the Brown County Humane Society's Chocolate Walk for years and years now. This walk happens in Nashville, Indiana, on Saturday, November 9, 2019, and starts around 10 am before finishes by 5 pm. If you want to go, you need to buy your tickets now

If you'd like to make a weekend of it, today I want to share a list of hotels you could stay in but also a word of caution. That weekend, there are a couple of events going on, not just The Chocolate Walk though I wish it was only that so we could focus on the chocolate, the shops, and the Humane Society. Friday and Saturday at the Brown County Playhouse there are two shows in the evening. Friday, November 8th, will be a Ronnie Milsap concert at the new BCMC center so hotels may sell out if you don't book soon. You can find an official Brown County list of where to stay here. Let me share some of my insights into some of these.

Brown County Inn is at the corner of one of the main highways that come into Nashville if you coming from the west so it is easy to find. I haven't stayed in a room but there are a lot of them. I have eaten there several times and the food is good. It is also right on the edge of Nashville itself so very easy to walk over to the events if you can handle 3-5 miles of walking.

A bit of a drive is Abe Martin Lodge inside the Brown County State Park. I have stayed here and liked it as well as the restaurant inside. You will need to drive to Nashville however and there are going to fees associated with the park as well.If you want to add more walking to your weekend, this is a great choice because the trails offer several levels of challenge that I have personally hiked.

Artists Colony Inn is NOT a B&B no matter what you may see online. We've stayed there and the rooms were okay but we were disappointed that it wasn't a B&B as we searched for online. It is in the heart of half of The Chocolate Walk so if you want to make a full day of it and need to stay overnight, this is a great choice.

There are other choices in Brown County and Nashville but I don't have experience with them to add more comments. If you don't mind traveling a bit that day, you can stay on the east side of Bloomington but know that the 12-20 miles estimate is really a 20-30 minute drive.
