It was my 29th wedding anniversary at the end of May 2021. While we didn't yet feel safe to do a lot of things, we did spend three nights in a suite-style hotel where we could cook and eat in our rooms and enjoy just some time away from our house. We also gave each other some gifts though the stay at the hotel and lots of carryout and curbside food was the major gift. Some of the expense was covered by lovely gifts from family.
While you should be grateful that folks think of you on holidays, anniversaries, and birthdays, that doesn't mean you need to use the gift you are given. Do you agree?
While we do appreciate that my brother-in-law was trying to be clever and respect this blog at the same time, given how we lived with overwhelmingly loud cicadas or six weeks and that I have a near phobia of insects, his gift will not be used.
