Spread the Cadbury for Easter

Easter is coming! For Western Christianity, it will fall on March 31, 2024, while Orthodox Easter won't happen until May 5, 2024. What that means is that if candy and chocolate companies want to send us more Easter goodies, we'll continue covering them this year. The Smiling Sweets Store sent me this four-pack of Mini Cadbury's Eggs Milk Chocolate Filled Easter Candy via the Amazon Vine program to test and write a review about on that site; no other form of compensation was received. This article is an unexpected bonus for candy company, Cadbury, and Amazon.

My hubby is a huge fan of the Cadbury Cream Eggs, particularly the original variety. We have tried these before, but if you haven't let me explain. This is a semi-soft chocolate center surrounded by a hard candy coating. These are more for the folks who like harder treats that the different Cadbury Eggs you may be able to find in a grocery store near you. As you can see, these are indeed egg shaped but also fairly small. Inside is the milk chocolate covered by a thick matte pastel pink, yellow, or blue (or white) candy shell.

The shell makes these crunchy with each chew. I can't say that I'm fan of the shell, it isn't too sweet but it really overwhelms the chocolate inside since that sugar coating is the first and final flavor you get. The milk chocolate inside is semi-soft, very easy to chew, and it will melt if you let it rest in your mouth. It has a creamy taste and the chocolate essence dissipates into the sugar shell fast.

This isn't the sort of Easter candy that I'd reach for over and over. A single serving, nine pieces or 32 grams, is really all I want at any given time because the shell's flavor lingers in my mouth. This could be a good choice for those who prefer less chocolate or want a crunch in their candy.
