The Harry Potter books came out decades ago.Their movie franchise proved a financial powerhouse. Toys, amusement park rides, clothing, and candy continue to be sold. Even after the author revealed her social political views were not what many fans hoped that they be, the popularity of Harry Potter's world continues. Today I want to reveal whether or not the Ballard Products 4-Pack Harry Potter Candy Assortment is worthy of the folks who love the franchise. I was sent this four pack of candy (two chocolate, two not) via the Amazon Vine program in exchange for an honest review on that shopping megasite; this article is an unexpected bonus and no additional forms of compensation was received by me.
Two of the four candies are not chocolate in any way, so I'll just mention them here: 2.1 oz bag of Jelly Slugs and 1.2 oz box of Bertie Botts Every Flavour Beans. I was surprised that both items listed the flavors that might be found inside; I thought the point of the beans was to scare you because it could be something horrible.
Let's go into more depth with the two chocolate candies included. First thing to note is that both are real chocolate, no added fats or oils.
The Chocolate House Crest is tiny at just 0.29 ounces. I got Slytherin and the detail was surprisingly good. The chocolate had crispies in it that were crunchy. The chocolate was creamy and sweet, clearly a lower cacao content milk chocolate. Be careful when you open the packages because I found non-edible items like a character card and a sticker.
The Chocolate Frog weighs 0.55 ounces. It had a broken flipper but otherwise was intact. The chocolate is also a crispy milk variety that was shockingly even sweeter than the crest.
Personally, I think the price is outrageous for this four-piece collection. Perhaps a true fan would love it because they get the extra items to keep. It is real chocolate so why I am not a huge fan, it does meet our criteria for Sacrament Worthy.
