What is Your Favorite Donut Place?

Today is three fun food holidays.

The first, is in honor of the appearance of Pop Tarts, an American vice that my own hubby adores as you can see from our collection of flavors. In 1964, these breakfast foods (or junk food depending on your opinion) became available to buy.

The second is National Cream Filled Donut Day!

The third is National Bakery Day!

Nice how those two fun food holiday connect, huh?

My favorite local bakery wasn't big into donuts and then it closed so I need advice from all of you.

What is your favorite local bakery where you can buy cream filled donuts?

For my taste buds, you can keep the cream filled. My utter and total favourites are Krispy Kreme plain, glazed doughnuts, but they absolutely have to be still warm from the oven. I'm salivating just thinking about them...
Thanks for commenting, Rosemary. No local bakeries in your area that you prefer?

Locally? There's 4 doughnut places that I know of: Crescent, Square, Jacks, and Kroger. Jack's makes massive donuts, some of which are chocolate, but they typically don't make filled donuts that I know of. Crescent is pretty smallish... it's been a while, but I think they do make chocolate cream-filled doughnuts, but I haven't had them in at least a year. The place I'm most familiar with is Square, and they do make pretty solid chocolate cream-filleds, among other flavors (including an interesting cereal doughnut). Lastly there's Kroger which has, arguably, the widest selection, but I'd say the lowest quality. Doughnuts by the lowest bidder. Cheap, but you get what you pay for. Not bad though. Hope this helps!
Thanks for commenting, Robert Dory. Donuts seem to bring out a lot of specific opinions but I love your detailed answer! Personally I'm not a cream filled fan.

I hope you keep reading our posts and sharing your opinions.
