Peanut Butter Cup Showdown: Unreal vs Wild Ophelia

While looking for more varieties of peanut butter cups for our Showdown series, I found a new brand of organic candy, Wild Ophelia. Today we're going to compare the dark chocolate peanut butter cups from Unreal and Wild Ophelia.

Let's look at them. First, yes the Wild Ophelia is very small but it should be comparable any way since I test it a bite at a time. The Unreal is much darker in color; I'm a bit worried that the Wild Ophelia was not stored properly in the store but I bought both in my local Kroger so it would be odd for that to be the factor that made this difference.

Inside we can see just how thick the Wild Ophelia is even if it is smaller around. The peanut butter filling in the Unreal is softer and darker. The Unreal has a strong roasted peanut butter flavor but the dark chocolate starts to build after a half dozen chews. The Wild Ophelia only has a slight salty edge at the end and I was expecting more. In terms of chocolate and peanut butter, the Wild Ophelia was weak all around.
