Want Some Edible Caffeine for Breakfast?

According to the Mayo Clinic, up to 400 mg of caffeine is safe for most adults to consume a day. So one of these VERB caffeinated snack bars at 80 mg caffeine from green tea, should be safe. But this isn't the Coffee Cult, this is The Chocolate Cult, so once the safety meets a check, we want to know how well any product tests in terms of the cocoa or chocolate it includes. We got a free 16-count box of the Chocolate Peanut Butter Cup variety of VERB snack bars via the Amazon Vine program to test out and write a review of; this article is a bonus and therefore no other form of compensation was received for revealing the results of out tests to you today. Remember that if you use our links, we get a tiny fee as an Amazon Associate, but that does not affect your price or our judgement of the products. Ready to check out this bar with me?

The bar reminds me of a homemade no-bake treats. You can see the oats and possibly the peanuts that are listed on the ingredients. The brown color is hopefully from the cocoa powder because the strong scent that builds up after only one of these is peanut butter. Closer smelling reveals a sharp sweetness but no chocolate or cocoa yet. These are very soft to bite into and they make so sound ever though the oats there because they are damp. The dominant flavor is peanut butter, then an increasing of sweetness that turns to an intensity that I do not like at all. At no point do I taste the cocoa powder which means these do not taste like peanut butter cups. Disappointing indeed!
