Swiss Indulgences Recalls

Eban’s Bakehouse is recalling all of its Sweet Indulgences cookie bites, packaged in 12-count, 11.85 oz boxes, due to undeclared milk and soy allergens. The recall is limited to the 12-count multi-pack cookie bites. The traditional 2 oz cookies are not included in the recall.

This recall has been initiated due to the ingredient label not stating milk and soy as allergens.

The cookie bites being recalled include:


     Brown Butter Honey Pistachio

     Lemon Shortbread

     Brown Butter Snickerdoodle

     Peanut Butter Chocolate Chunk

     Chocolate Chili Coffee Coconut

     Turtle Brownie

The labeling issue was discovered during a routine inspection conducted by the Ohio Department of Agriculture. There have been no reports of illness involving the products addressed in this recall; however, people who have an allergy or severe sensitivity to milk or soy run the risk of a serious or life threatening allergic reaction if they consume this product. Individuals exhibiting signs of an allergic reaction should seek medical attention immediately.

CHICAGO, Illinois – December 15, 2023 – The Quaker Oats Company today announced the recall of specific granola bars and granola cereals listed below because they have the potential to be contaminated with Salmonella, an organism which can cause serious and sometimes fatal infections in young children, frail or elderly people, and others with weakened immune systems. Healthy persons infected with Salmonella often experience fever, diarrhea (which may be bloody), nausea, vomiting and abdominal pain. In rare circumstances, infection with Salmonella can result in the organism getting into the bloodstream and producing more severe illnesses such as arterial infections (i.e., infected aneurysms), endocarditis and arthritis.

The products listed below are sold throughout the 50 United States, Puerto Rico, Guam and Saipan. Consumers should check their pantries for any of the products listed below and dispose of them. Astor Chocolate Recall

It is always sad when I see a brand we've featured in these recalls. Luckily this is for just one product.


Astor Chocolate Corporation of Lakewood, New Jersey is recalling 1,092 Burnt Caramel Candy Bars, because it may contain undeclared coconut. People who have an allergy or severe sensitivity to coconut run the risk of serious or life-threatening allergic reaction if they consume these products.

The product was distributed through Aldi’s Haines City, Florida Distribution Center, which services select Aldi stores in Florida.

This action relates only to: BURNT CARAMEL BARS (UPC #4099100202809) products with Lot 0101614649, Best By Date of 12/11/2024.

The product and Lot Code as printed on the package shown below:

No illnesses have been reported to date.

The recall was initiated after it was discovered that the coconut-containing product was distributed in packaging that did not reveal the presence of coconut.
